The CCI de QUIMPER CORNOUAILLE: working with businesses
every day
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The CCI Quimper Cornouaille is a public institution run by business
chiefs elected by their peers to represent and defend the interests
of 9,800 businesses. It employs 350 people.
The CCI is an important player in the economic activity of the
Cornouaille area, taking part in all decisions concerning business
and town planning. Its management methods, skills and resources
allow it to play a major role in advising and supporting companies.
It also offers a wide-ranging, constantly updated training programme
in the field of apprenticeships and continuing education.
The CCI Quimper Cornouaille manages a considerable number of
infrastructures, many of which it was responsible for creating.
These facilities include, amongst others, an airport, 7 fishing
ports and 7 fish auctions ( 3 of which figure in the top 5 nationally
for landing figures and turnover).
The elected members are responsible for establishing the general
policy of the CCI through Study Committees, Administrative Committees
and Working Parties. The 'Parlement des Entreprises' consists
of 32 appointed members, 32 associate members, 49 technical advisers
and 191 consular delegates who, working in collaboration with
the managers of the operational and functional departments, draw
up reports which are then presented to the Board before being
put before the General Assembly. The various committees supervise
the implementation of the actions dealt with by the different
Working Parties and CCI Managers in their relevant fields.
In addition, the consular delegates participate in the election
of judges to the 'Tribunal de Commerce'.
The President and elected members define the strategic policy
of the CCI which is implemented by Senior Management who mobilise
and optimise the necessary human, technical and financial resources.
The Department of Human Resources administers and manages the
380 employees of the CCI and is responsible for their continuing
education, social affairs, legal matters, insurance and contracts.
As spokesman for the CCI, the Public Relations manager, along
with his department, has a special relationship with the Media.
Together they co-ordinate and strengthen the links with local
businesses and promote the work of the CCI among its member-clients.
