Cornouaille has several commercial centres and although the shopping zone of Quimper is vast with 300 000 inhabitants, towns such as Pont L'Abbé, Quimperlé, Concarneau, Douarnenez, Audierne-Plouhinec, Fouesnant attract their local population thanks to well-developed and diverse shopping facilities.

Markets play an important role in animating town centres in Cornouaille and almost half of the towns in the area have a weekly all year round market. There are also seasonal markets. Markets account for just 3% of the average spending on food, but they have 9% of the fruit and vegetable market and up to 14% of that for fish and shellfish.
